    Trekking time: 3 hours
    Trekking distance: 5km
After breakfast we drive from the hotel in Arusha to the starting point of your Kilimanjaro Rongai Route trek.
We begin our trek at 2,300m altitude and hike along a trail lines with cypress trees and mountain forest. You may be able to spot some playful colobus monkeys on the way.
We will stay overnight at Simba Camp (2,600m altitude). All meals are included today.

DAY 3: SIMBA CAMP (2,600m) TO KIKELELWA CAVE (3,600m)

Trekking time: 7 to 8 hours
    Trekking distance: 16 km
From Simba Camp we will start our day with a light breakfast and begin our trek. You will notice the landscape change along our trek, from mountain forest to moorland vegetation This trail will lead us towards the second Cave Camp (3,450 m) where we will have lunch. After lunch and a quick break, we carry on up to the third Cave Campsite (3, 600 m), (Kikelelwa Cave) the alternative name
By the time we reach the Kikelelwa Cave the porters will have already prepared your tent, hot water for a nice wash and coffee/tea plus snacks. The camp is surrounded by multiple small caves in a valley a bit below the saddle which you can explore if we have enough time and energy! After dinner we retire to our tents for a well-deserved rest. Please remember that at this altitude the nights get very cold, even in Africa, so remember to bring layers to sleep in also.

Trekking time: 3 to 4 hours
    Trekking distance: approx. 3 km
We will have a light breakfast before starting our 3rd day at Kikelelwa cave. We will start our hiking day on an easy and moderate slope, you will notice changes in the landscape again and the pass will become steeper, at which point we know we are close to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,315m), resting at the altitude of 4,315m.
This is a very remarkable campsite as it is in a hollow right beneath the sharp peak of Mawenzi which is close to a small lake. On arrival at the camp we will follow the same procedures as previous days. Then a hot lunch will be served followed by some to recuperate hours. You can use this afternoon for resting and/or exploring the areas around the campsite.
Walks are available to a number of ridges and towers in this area which could provide a stunning view of Kibo. For a great acclimatization and for amazing views of Mawenzi this is the right place. Enjoy the magnificent sunset from your campsite then stay for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: MAWENZI TARN CAMP (4,315m) TO KIBO HUT (4,720m)

Trekking time: 4 to 5 hours
We begin our day with a light breakfast and hiking over a small ridge, before having an easy walk on a gentle path that is on the northern part of the saddle. With good weather, views around this area are simply wonderful. The vegetation here again changes and dominates the area with alpine desert, some hardy grasses, and occasional flowers.
At this juncture Rongai route will adjoin Marangu route when reaching the saddle in-between Mawenzi and Kibo. The Rongai and Marangu routes up to the summit are the same path from this point. The final part of today’s hike that leads to Kibo Hut (4,720m) is steeper. We will reach Kibo hut at 4,700m around lunch time. Again, the porters will have your essentials prepared including, hot water to wash with. The rest of the day we use to get enough rest and acclimatize further to prepare for the final part of our Kilimanjaro trekking.
On this day dinner will be served early but before or after dinner your guide will give you a detailed briefing of your final push to the summit. We encourage guests to go to bed early and try get a good sleep, as this is the big night at Kilimanjaro. Before bed you should prepare everything needed for your final ascent. Such as: thermal clothing, ski-stick, thermal flask for water, fresh headlamp batteries. The guide will remind you of everything that you would need on the trek.

DAY 6: KIBO HUT (4,720m) TO SUMMIT (UHURU PEAK, 5,895m) TO HOROMBO HUT (3,720m)

Trekking time: 6 hours to Horombo
    Trekking distance: approx. 6 km
On the summit day on Rongai Route, our wake-up time will be at around 23:00 to 23:30. We will have some biscuits and tea before we start giving us energy to hike very rough path with rocky terrain. Williams Point at an altitude of 5,000 m, Hans Meyer Cave at 5,150 m and Gillman’s Point at an altitude of 5,681m are all situated on the crater rim.
To reach Hans Mayer Cave from Kibo hut we will need almost two and a half hours. Gillman’s Point is not that far from Hans Meyers Cave being an hour trek away and to reach the summit from Gillman’s Point is about 1.5 hours walking distance.
The remainder of the climb is normally covered with snow while we walk along the rim of the crater all the way to Uhuru Peak. On the way to Uhuru Peak you will pass Stella Point which stands at an altitude of 5,752m; this point is where the other routes reach the rim. Now you are at the summit of Kilimanjaro. Congratulations! You have made it to the roof of Africa via Rongai route 6 days of hiking.
At such a high altitude, just a few minutes is enough at Uhuru Peak so be prepared to take in the sight and capture it in a photograph before we begin our descent back to Kibo hut (4,700m) in time for our lunch. From Kibo hut we need approximately 3 hours to reach Horombo hut 3,720m. We will arrive at the camp in the afternoon, where we will have access to hot water, tea, coffee and snacks. We can change clothes then take a deep breath while relaxing, being proud of our achievement and waiting for dinner.

DAY 7: HOROMBO HUT (3,720m) TO MARANGU GATE (1,800m)

    Trekking time: 6 hours
    Distance: approx. 19 km
After a hearty breakfast at Horombo Hut we will continue to descend Kilimanjaro. As we pass Mandara Hut at an altitude of 2,720m, we will have a short break for lunch then proceed down to Marangu gate at (1800 m).
At Marangu gate you will sign some of your details into a register book and you will be provided with a summit certificate,
After lunch we drive back to hotel for a well-earned rest.

Today we say goodbye to tour guide and fellow hikers. You will be transferred to the airport for your ongoing journeys.
