DAY 1: ARRIVAL ADDIS ABABA

Arrive in Addis Ababa Bole International airport and meet our guide for Ethiopia.
Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2: ADDIS ABABA TO CHEBERA CHURCHURA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive from Addis Ababa to Chebera Churchura national park via Jimma, the capital of the former Kaffa province after which the coffee brand is named. Late in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the National Park.

DAY 3: CHEBERA CHURCHURA NATIONAL PARK

Today will be an epic day in Chebera Churchura National Park. This is one of the newest National Parks in Ethiopia, and it is untouched parks with a hight degree of unsploit wilderness. So far, 37 larger mammals and 237 species of birds have been recorded in the diversity of habitats that make up this park. One can find Highland & Riverine forests and savanna and bush lands. White- winged cliff chat, banded-barbet, wattled ibis, black-headed forest Oriole and thick billed Raven are endemic birds for the country. Common mammals include the African elephant, hippopotamus, Cape buffalo, lion, and leopard. The park is the least disturbed and reliable ecosystem for the African elephant and Buffalo in the country.

DAY 4: CHEBERA CHURCHURA TO MAZE NATIONAL PARK

After an early morning game drive, we leave Chebera Churchura National park and drive to Maze National Park. Maze national Park is covered by savannah grasslands with scattered deciduous broad leaf trees as well as river basinalong the main water courses. So far 39 larger and medium sized mammals and 196 birds’ species have been recorded. The park is one of the three sites in the country where good population of the endemic Swayne’s Hartebeest’s population still survive. In addition, other mammals like Oribi, Bohor reed buck, warthog, bushbuck, waterbuck, greater kudu, lesser kudu, bush pig, Anubis baboon, vervet monkey, leopard, and wild cats are among the other common species.

DAY 5: MAZE NATIONAL PARK TO MAGO NATIONAL PARK

After a morning game drive the road leads you to Mago National Park. Our camp site is set in an idyllic location offering great opportunity to see the wildlife in the park.

DAY 6: EXCURSION TO MURSI TRIBAL VILLAGE

In the morning you will have a game drive in the park. After that we drive to a village of the Mursi tribe to visit and appreciate their authentic culture. The women of the tribe are known for their circular discs in the lower lips.

DAY 7: JINKA TO TURMI

Drive from Jinka to Turmi, a settlement of the Hamer people. The women of the Hamer are known particularly for their striking appearance, adorned with thick plaits of ochre-colored hair hanging down in a heavy fringe, clothed in leather skirts decorated with cowries and a dozen or more copper bracelets fixed tightly around their arms. The men are noted for the initiation ceremony of jumping over bulls and walking over a row of cattle. Catching this interesting ritual is entirely a matter of chance. On the way you will visit a colorful traditional market in the Omo Valley called Key Afer, here you will see the Hamer, Tsemay, Bena and the Ari ethnic groups, all adorned in their cultural attire.

DAY 8: TURMI – DAASANACH – TURMI

In the morning, you will make an excursion trip to the Daasanach tribal group by crossing the Omo River in a wooden boat. After your visit we drive back to Turmi for lunch.
In the afternoon, visit a Hamar village or attend the bull jumping ceremony if there is one.

DAY 9: TURMI TO ARBA MINCH

Drive from Turmi to Arba Minch visiting the Arbore tribe, known for their jewelries and the Konso people who are known for their agricultural tradition of making terraces to protect the soil against erosion. The Konso area is registered as one of the world heritage sites in the country in 2011.
In the afternoon you are in for a remarkable boat ride on the southernmost lake in the Rift Valley in Ethiopia, Lake Chamo. While on the Lake you will many hippo and the world’s most spectacular concentrations of Giant Crocodiles. The lake is locally known as “Crocodile Market”. You will see locals in their traditional boats fishing for Nile Perch and many other species. The water birds, such as African Fish Eagle, Great White Pelicans and Egrets, are plentiful. The scenery is truly unforgettable.

DAY 10: ARBA MINCH TO AWASSA

After breakfast, drive to Chencha to visit the Dorze people who are known for their weaving tradition and for their beautiful huts made of bamboo. After your visit we head for Awassa. Enroute we visit an Alaba village with its painted houses.

DAY 11: AWASSA TO ADDIS ABABA

After breakfast we drive back to Addis Ababa. We visit the Rift Valley Lakes of Langano, Abiyatta, Shalla, and Ziway. In the afternoon there is a city tour of Addis Ababa on the programme that includes a visit to the National Museum. Many archaeological and historical finds are on display including the famous complete hominid fossil remains of ‘Lucy’.
In the evening before your departure, we will enjoy a farewell dinner party at one of the best traditional restaurants where you will see folkloric dancers of the people of Ethiopia, and taste a variety of Ethiopian meals.
Afterwards you will be brought to the airport for your departure or to your hotel.
